Leah Cassella is a Pittsburgh native and Chicago transplant who recently received an MFA in Directing at the Illinois State University School of Theatre and Dance.. She has worked as a director with South Coast Rep with David Emmes on the world premiere of Rajiv Joseph's Mr. Wolf,  Illinois Shakespeare Festival, The Summer Company, Gemini Theater, Pittsburgh New Works Festival, Pittsburgh Shakespeare in the Parks, Duquesne University Red Masquers, Duquesne University Medieval and Renaissance Players, Chatham University and Current Theatrics. She also has a background in teaching, stage management, producing, and arts administration and holds a BA in Theater and English from Duquesne University and an MA in Literary and Cultural Studies from Carnegie Mellon University where she studied with Restoration Theater expert Kristina Straub. She believes that at its best, theatre can to activate, educate, energize, and change those who experience it.  If you do too, check out the contact tab to connect.
